Turning the Tables on the Enemy: Spiritual Warfare by Tia Weaver

March 6, 2009

That’s what our Priests have been talking about, and it’s what we’ve been doing. I know what you’re thinking … a civilian, a girl at that . . . what could she know about warfare?
Well, let me tell you. I know a little bit about hand-to-hand combat, actually.

People told me how brave they thought I was in the way I handled my accident and my recovery. The first time I heard that, I was still in the hospital, and I remember thinking “this isn’t being brave; this is easy!”

Easy, because I had friends and family around me at all times, encouraging and helping me.

Easy, because my hospital room was filled with beautiful flower arrangements and cards.
Easy, because I had so many people praying for me, literally hundreds!

What was hard, however, was being just a child, a little girl, and learning the cold hard fact that if I told, I would be the one punished. That was hard.

It was chasing after my parents car, barefoot on a caliche road, screaming “Please take me with you!!!” and having them speed away with the stones pelting my face and body, and at ten years of age knowing how the martyrs must have felt. That was hard.

It was having open wounds, and not knowing how to make them stop bleeding, having bruises and not knowing how to make them stop swelling. That was hard.

What we’re fighting, my beloved family, is far worse than all of that. It is dying and instead of going to Heaven, being thrown into a pit of never- ending fire. It’s the gnashing of teeth ripping us apart!

  • Turn your lives around NOW.
  • Get off the fence NOW.
  • Follow the Lord, and the Lord only NOW.

We may not have a tomorrow, beloved.

By the blood, the nail holes, and the stripes, my Savior covered me with His armor of blood and saved me from the enemy, when I was a child and now as an adult who was on that very treacherous fence. The fence that can cost us so much; it can cost us everything!

So you see, my beloved family, by the mighty grace of my Lord, Jesus Christ, He and He alone turned the tables on the enemy on my behalf. So I write to you today about my past, not to be viewed as a victim … but to prove to you through Him we can all be victorious survivors. Through any thing, strife, oppression, abuse of any kind, even injuries that should have been fatal, … but were not, by His Grace and His Grace alone.

Your Sister in Christ, Tia

Passover with Congregation Beth Simcha

March 5, 2009

Congregation Beth Simcha extends this invitation to experience Messianic Jewish Passover.

The Feast of Passover, is the most frequently mentioned festival of all the feasts of Israel in both testaments. Exodus 12 tells the account of God passing over the homes in Egypt. Those that had smeared the blood of a lamb on the doorpost were spared of the 10th plague the Death of the first born. The Lord’s Supper originates from Passover. Our tradition celebrates the first night of Passover with a family home service and then (April 11th) during Passover week we celebrate a Community Seder Service at the Downtown Crowne Plaza Hotel.
