Ash Wednesday

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 9, 2011.
The section of our website that describes the seasons of the Christian year says this:
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are fast days for Anglicans, and the forty days of Lent require “a measure of abstinence as is more especially suited to extraordinary acts and exercises of devotion” according to the Book of Common Prayer. (p.li)
All Saints will hold two Ash Wednesday services:
- Imposition of Ashes at 12:15 PM
- Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion at 7:00 PM (NOT 7:15 PM as usual Wednesday services)
