Daily Bread Ministries

Daily Bread Ministries is a Christian based food bank where all food is given away free of charge. It is operated by dedicated staff and volunteers who run daily routes to collect surplus goods from food suppliers and catering companies throughout San Antonio. The collected goods are then brought to their 20,000- square-foot warehouse at 700 W. Houston Street. Typically, the food is redistributed to nonprofit organizations and ministries within 48 hours, three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Daily Bread Ministries is supported through the prayers and financial donations of businesses, individuals, churches, and grants. All Saints is one of the many churches that supports Daily Bread Ministries with prayer, financial donations, and volunteers.
If you’d like to make a difference in our community by serving others, consider volunteering at Daily Bread Ministries. They help to feed thousands throughout San Antonio and the surrounding community. You can assist by offering your time, talent, or treasure.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Driving–help collect and deliver donations by driving trucks and vans, either on a regular route or on an occasional basis, to pick up donations and deliver them to agencies and churches.
- Sorting and re-packaging bulk donations.
- Assisting with office and administrative tasks, including data entry.
- Helping with mechanic work on delivery vehicles.
- Gathering food from local caterers.
All Saints had its first volunteer day at Daily Bread on Saturday, February
19, 2011. We sorted food and clothing and helped load 34 trucks for ministries that delivered goods to the four corners of San Antonio, blessing those in need and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Daily Bread Ministries is currently in great need of donations like pillows, blankets, diapers, etc. Please call 210-223-4707 if you would like to volunteer or donate.
