Report on Food Pantry Thanksgiving Turkeys from Bill Wimp

December 1, 2011

I  wanted to report that we ended up giving away 59 turkeys to people who came to our food pantry on Saturday, 11/19/11. Thank you to everyone who donated to this outreach effort. We initially purchased 46 turkeys and had 4 turkeys  generously donated by Chuck Cavanaugh. We had a record crowd that day of 59 families. So, rather than have any family who came not get a turkey, we went out and purchased another 9 turkeys  and delivered these turkeys Saturday evening to the families that did not receive them at the distribution on Saturday afternoon.

The people that received turkeys were very surprised and very thankful to receive the turkeys. We had several ladies tell us that they wouldn’t have had turkey for Thanksgiving, if not for receiving turkeys from our food pantry. One lady gave me a big hug and said our church’s gift had blessed their family more than we could ever imagine.

As always, giving Thanks and Praise to God for His many Blessings.
