Giving Books for Christmas Gifts? Check out the All Saints Bookstore

December 12, 2011

Christmas is not about presents or food or family or fun.

Christmas is about Jesus, and we practice that at All Saints.

As we each celebrate the birth of Christ, however, we also enjoy cherished traditions, including giving gifts to our loved ones.

Books, especially Christian books, make wonderful Christmas gifts. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV):

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

If you plan to give books to someone on your Christmas list, check out the All Saints Bookstore. Everything in the store is appropriate for Christians and consistent with our faith tradition.

The Featured Page lists books used in All Saints classes and books recommended by clergy and members. Other categories include Bibles; Prayer Books; Church Fathers, Biography, & History; Discipleship/Devotionals/Christian Life/Bible Study; C.S. Lewis; Beth Moore; Kay Arthur Precepts Studies; Fiction: Biblical; Fiction: Christian; Fiction: Other; Children and Youth; and Kindle. Member Recommendations are Amazon Listmania lists created by parishioners.

All Saints earns a small commission on all books sold through the store, so if you plan to buy books for Christmas—or any time—you can help All Saints by ordering through the bookstore.

What if the book you want to give isn’t listed in the bookstore? You can order anything you want from Amazon.com (even electronics, household or automotive items, or anything Amazon offers) as long as you enter Amazon through the All Saints bookstore. Click on the page for any book in the store, then click on the link to view all the formats in the bookstore. Once you are in Amazon, everything you order will earn a commission for All Saints.

For great suggestions, take a look at the featured books and those listed on members’ recommended lists, and read the reviews here on the website.

And if you have read some great books you would like to recommend, submit a recommendation or a review. Or create a list on Amazon.com and email  webmaster@allsaintsanglican.net to have the list added to the website.

And don’t forget to order your own books through the All Saints store.
