Koinonia

Koinonia BandKoinonia is Greek for fellowship, and implies a close association, both spiritually and emotionally—a family.  But the term also includes sharing in the sacrifice at the altar—and speaks to how we are inextricably linked by Jesus’ shed blood for us all.

A first century-style house church, this is the assembling of ourselves together as St. Paul taught us—to love one another, while bearing each others’ burdens.  Worship is free and expressive. Dress is casual.

Koinonia meets for coffee and fellowship Sundays at 6 PM, in the parish hall.

We sing worship songs, study His Word together, and pray for each others’ needs—including healing. God rises among us powerfully and personally.

Many times before leaving the parish (from the Greek for household or family) church, we enter the nave (around 7:30 pm) to offer our prayers for God’s blessing on our rest in the ancient monastic Compline service. While there, we also provide pastoral care, such as communion from the Reserve Sacrament, private confession, or personal prayers.

Warm, unstructured, and informal, Koinonia is a time inhabited and characterized by the Holy Spirit, where we can be bound together with chains of love that cannot be broken.
